<br />of Directors will expire with the annual meeting of the Board on ~ay 25, 1967, and accordingly, .submit
<br />our resignations from the Board.
<br /> It has been a privilege and great pleasure serving on the Museum Board, and we hope in the future,
<br />when household responsibilities are less demanding, that there will again be opportthnities for

<br />between So~d Columbia Streets. The Planning Commission recommended approval for that portion
<br />between South Street and the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad only. Area north of the railroad is involved in
<br />municipal playground development."

<br /> "As a tax paying citizen, a resident of Douglas Park, Portsmouth, Virginia, I feel that
<br />the promise of much needed drains and gutters are long overdue. }~henever there is a heavy rain so
<br />much water stands in the streets that the children uses the streets for a wading pool.

<br /> "We the residents of the 1500 block of Cdnter Avenue are very interested in beautifying our
<br />city. We are writing this letter in the hope of securing curbstones and sidewalks in this block. It
<br />would be greatly appreciated if this letter was given the kind of interest, speed and action deemed
<br />necessary to see that we receive the above mentioned improvemenfs. We thank you for your kindness."

<br /> 67-121 - The following letter from James P. Stephenson was read:
<br /> "Although I haven't been officially notified of my appointment to the Portsmouth Port
<br />and Industrial Commission, I feel it would be proper to thank Mou and the Council for considering me
<br />for this important civic duty. It is quite an honor to serve with such a distinguished group of men,
<br />guiding a project that will mean so much to the future growth of Portsmouth.
<br /> Please accept this letter as my resignation from the Municipal Bond Commission, effective
<br />immediately. I have enjoyed working with you, the other city officials, A1 Bartlett and other commission
<br />members, and will miss these periodic meetings. I believe the Bond Commission wilt continue rendering
<br />a valu~ole service to the city.
<br /> I shall look fo~vard to serving on the Port and Industrial Commission."
