<br /> The Lifo Insuranco Company of Virginia did not have the lowest monthly promium
<br />rato, but based on their retontion figures and other considerations in their proposals, Bowles,
<br />Andrews and Towne consider this company's bid to be the best.
<br /> I concur and recommend the plan be awarded to the Life Insurance Company of Virginia.
<br />It is also recommended that the City assume $S.00 per month of the cost to the employee.
<br /> ~e wish to proceed with the plan as quickly as possible, as the current
<br />hospitalization plan, while not participated in by the City, will cost the City employees a
<br />substantial increase as of July 1, 1967.
<br /> There are representatives of the firm of Bowles, Andrews and Towne present tonight
<br />to answer any questions concerning the plan dr the bids."

<br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes to concur in the recommendation of the City Manager to award the bid
<br />to the lowest bidder, Life Insurance Company of Virginia, the City to asstune $S.00 per month of
<br />the cost to the employee and that the Council make further study of the city's insurance nroblem prior
<br />to February 1, !968, was adopted, without dissenting vote.

<br />IMPROVEMENT AN~ REPAIR OF VARIOUS FACILITIES, THE CONSTRUCTION OF DRAINAGE
<br />PROJECTS, THE RETIREMENT OF BONDS, AND THE PAYb~NT OF DEBT SERVICE EXPENSES"
