January 23, 1968 <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Leafy, the following ordinance was approved on first reading without <br />dissenting vote: <br /> <br />"ZONING AbiENDMENT ORDINANCE Z 68-4" <br /> <br />Petition 68-6 - Bundy Realty Compan. y. <br /> <br />Donald W~itson, 500 Poplar Lane, spoke. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Leary to concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commission to deny the <br />application was adopted, without dissenting vote. <br /> <br />The following reports from the City Manager were read: <br /> <br /> 68-18 - "I submit the attached ordinance and reconmend it be placed on first reading. This <br />appropriates $18,454.99 to lend to the Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission. <br /> These funds are to cover invoices received by the Commission for the crane, <br />warehouses and other expenses in the construction of the Marine Terminal. <br /> The City will probably be reimbursed this week for the funds that have been loaned <br />to the Commission." <br /> <br /> On motion of blt. King, the following ordinance was approved on first reading without dissenting <br />vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $18,454.99 FROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL lb~ROVEMENT FUND FOR <br />TEMPORARY LOAN TO THE PORTSMOUTH PORT AND INDUSTRIAL C03g{ISSION" <br /> <br /> 68-19 - "I submit the attached ordinance and recommend it be placed on first reading. <br />appropriates $5,400.00 for the purchase of property at 200 Carolina Avenue. <br /> This land is to be used in the development of the Marine-Terminal." <br /> <br />This <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Leafy. the following ordinance was approved on first r~ading, without <br />dissenting vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $5,400.00 FROM TIlE GENERAL CAPITAL D~ROVEMENT FUND FOR TIlE <br />PURCHASE OF 200 CAROLINA AVENUE IN PINNERS POINT" <br /> <br /> 68-20 - "I submit the attached ordinance and reconunend it be placed on first reading. <br />closes a oortion of Louisa Terrace. <br /> The closing has been requested by the adjoining property owners and has been <br />approved by the Planning Contmission. A 'report of the viewers, recommending the ~losing is <br />submitted herewith." <br /> * The roll,elna report of the viewers was read.: <br /> On motion of Mr. Johnson, the following ordinance-aras approved on first reading, without <br />dissenting vote: <br /> <br />This <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF LOUISA TERRACE" <br /> <br />* 9Th~iu~dersigned viewers, appointed by the City Council of the City of Portsmouth to view <br />Louisa Terrace, lying between the Western right of way lina of Louisa Avenue and a line 90 feet <br />West thereof and parallel thereto, and report in writing qkether in their opinion any, and if any, <br />what inconvenience would result from vacating and closing the aforedescribed portion of said street, <br />beg to report that they have viewed the said street and, in their open,on, no inconvenience would <br />result from its vacation and closing." <br /> <br /> 68-21 - "t submit the attached ordinance and recommend it be placed on first reading.
