February 13. 1968 <br /> <br />68-53 - The following letter from the Superintendent of Schools was read: <br /> <br /> "The School Board, in a response to the Planning Commission, will conduct a comolete census of <br />Portsmouth City, utilizing the census tract of the Portsmouth area. It will cost approximately <br />$16,900..00 for the total census. Of this amount, the School Board has $5,510.00 to be applied to the <br />total budget~ leaving a deficit of Sl],750.00. The Portsmouth School Board respectfully requests <br />an appropriation of Sii,750.00 to cover the remaining Dortion of the cost to conduct the city census. <br /> <br /> Motion of ~{r. Eastes to refer to the City b]anager for reco~nendation, was adopted, without <br />dissenting vote. <br /> <br /> 68-54 - Motion of Mr. Barnes that~the City ~.{anager investigate the policy of other cities with <br />regard to branch libraries occupying space in schools, was adopted, without dissenting vote. <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
