March 26, 1968 <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Eastes, the following resolution was unanimously adopted: <br /> <br />"A~RESOLUTION GR;~NTING A USE PEa-lIT FOR Tile OPERATION OF ~q Ab~OMOTIVE SERVICE STATION <br />AT 1808 PORTSMOUTH BOULEVARD <br /> <br /> "~{EREAS~ Cities Service Corporation has filed an application pursuant to Section 4~2:~of~th~ <br />Zoning ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a use permit as hereinafter described; <br />and <br /> <br /> ;~EREAS, the applicant, the Planning Director and the City Manager have done all things <br />required to be done in connection with said application, and the Planning Commission has recommended <br />the granting of said use permit, subject to the conditi6ns h~reinafter stated. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By %~4~ Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />That the use for which the use permit hereinafter described is somght (1) will not adversely <br />affect the health or safety of persons residing or working in the neighborhood of the <br />proposed use, (2) will not be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to property <br />or improvements in the neighborhood, and (5) will be in accord with the nur~oses of said <br />Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />That Cities Service Corporation is hereby granted a use permit, pursuant to Section <br />4-2 of said Zoning Ordinance, for the construction and operation of an automotive <br />service station to be located on the property described as follows: Beginning at the <br />northwest corner of Portsmouth Boulevard and Staunton Avenue; thence southwest along <br />Portsmouth Boulevard approximately 135 feet; thence northwest 85 feet to an alley; <br />thence northeast approximately 135 feet to Staunton Avenue; thence southeast 85 feet <br />to the noint of origin." <br /> <br />UP-68-8 - John F.
