13c <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council, held on March 26, 1968, there were present: <br /> <br />R. Irvine Smith, Jack P: Barnes, George D. Eastes, Burrell R. Johnson, Isaac W. King, <br />L. L. Knight, W. T. Leafy, A. P. Johnson, Jr., City Manager, M. A. Korb, Jr., City Attorney, <br />and R. D. Ottavio, City Auditor. <br /> <br />The meeting was opened with prayer by Rev. Marlis L. Burwell, pastor of First Baptist Church. <br /> <br /> Minutes of the regular meeting held on March 12, 1968, and called meeting of March 19, <br /> were read and approved. <br /> <br />68-96.1 <br /> 68-97 - ~e following hearing on zoning changes was held: <br /> <br />1968 <br /> <br />UP-68r? - John-A. Mclntyre, Jr., 5300 Victory Blvd. <br /> <br />No one snoke in regard to the application. <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Johnson, the following resolution was unanimously adopted: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION GR~aNTING A USE PE~4IT FOR THE OPERATION OF AN AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE STATION <br />AT $300 VICTORY BOULEVARD <br /> <br /> iiHEREAS, Cities Service Corporation has filed an application pursuant to Section 4-2 of the <br />Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a Use Permit as hereinafter described; <br />and <br /> <br /> bMEREAS, the applicant, the Planning Director and the City Manager have done all things required to be <br />done in connection with said application, and the Planning Comission has recommended the granting of said <br />use permit, subject to the conditions hereinafter stated. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />That the use for which the use permit hereinafter described is ~ought (1) will <br />not adversely affect the health or safety of persons residing or working in the <br />neigkborhood of the proposed use, (2) will not he detrimental to the public <br />welfare or injurious to property or improvements in the neighborhood, and (3) will <br />be in accord with the purposes of said Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />That Cities Service Corporation, is hereby granted a use permit, pursuant to <br />Section 4-2 of said Zoning Ordinance, for the construction and operation of <br />an automotive servi~e station to be located on the property described as follows: <br />Beginning at the northeast corner of Victory Boulevard and Beazley Drive; thence <br />north along Victory Boulevard approximately 165 feet; thence northwest 150 feet; <br />thence southeast 163.87 feet; thence southwest approximately 150 feet to the <br />point of origen." <br /> <br />No one spoke in regard to the application. <br /> <br />On' motion of Mr. KnigHt, the following resolution was unanimously adopted: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION GR~YrING A USE PERMIT FOR THE OPERATION OF ~N AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE STATION <br />AT ~800 FREMERICK BOULEVARD <br /> <br /> ~'5~ERF~S, Cities Service Corporation has filed an applicmtion pursuant to Section 4-2 of the <br />Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a use permit as hereinafter described; <br />and <br /> <br /> ~{EREAS, the applicant, the Planning Director and the City Manager have done all things required <br />to be done in connection with said application, and the Planning Commission has recommended the granting <br />of said use permit, subject to the conditions hereinafter stated. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />That the use for which the use penuit hereinafter described is sought (1) will not adversely <br />affect the health or safety of persons residing or working in the neighborhood of the <br />proposed use, (2) will not be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to property <br />or improvements in the neighborhood, and (3) will be in accord with the purposes of said <br />ZoningF;Ordinance. <br /> <br />That Cities Service Corporation, is hereby granted a use permit, pursuant to <br />Section 4-2 of said Zoning Ordinance, for ~]e construction and operation of <br />mn automotive service station to be located on the property described as follows: <br />Beginning at the southwest corner of Turnpike Road and Frederick Boulevard; thence <br />south along Frederick Boulevard approximately 220 feet; thence west 95 feet; thence <br />north approximately 60 feet; thence northeMst approximately 8 feet; thence northwest <br />approximately 100 feet to Turnpike Road; thence northeast approximately 120 feet <br />to the point of origin." <br /> <br />U~-68-7 - John F. Mclntyre, Jr., 1808 Portsmouth Boulevard. <br /> <br /> No one spoke in regard to the application. <br />68-96.1 Mrs. D.W.Pond, Den Mother of Cub Scout Pack 213, Boy Scouts of America, presented a proclamation de- <br /> claring April "Keep America Beautiful Mouth", iu keeping with the National theme. The Mayor signed the pro- <br /> clamation and commended the members of the Cub Scout Pack amd their leaders for their fine work. <br /> <br /> <br />
