August 16. 1998 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Sunday, August 16, 1998, <br />there were present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., *Cameron C. <br />Pitts, P. Ward P, obinett, Jr., J. Thomas Benn III, William E. Moody, Jr., <br />Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie, Debra Y. White, <br />City Clerk. <br /> <br />98 - 203 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held at the <br />Williamsburg Hospitality House, 415 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, <br />Virginia, on Sunday, August 16, 1998 at 3:30 p.m., on Monday, August 17, <br />1998 at 8:00 a.m., and on Tuesday, August 18, 1998 at 9:00 a.m. for the <br />purpose of a City Council Retreat. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive <br />Session. <br /> <br /> By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, to go into <br />Executive Session pursuant to proyisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of <br />Virginia, to discuss or consider the following matters: <br /> <br /> (1) Discussion of the performance of a specific Council appointee, <br /> as permitted by Subsection (A~)(1). <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to <br />Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the <br />Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive <br />Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> ('1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open <br /> meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information <br /> Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the <br /> motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br /> heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br /> Council. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motion, meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m. <br /> <br />Miautes prepared by: <br /> <br />Debbie K.
