August 16. 1998 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Sunday, August 16, 1998, there were present: Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., *Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward P, obinett, Jr., J. Thomas Benn III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie, Debra Y. White, City Clerk. 98 - 203 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held at the Williamsburg Hospitality House, 415 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, Virginia, on Sunday, August 16, 1998 at 3:30 p.m., on Monday, August 17, 1998 at 8:00 a.m., and on Tuesday, August 18, 1998 at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of a City Council Retreat. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, to go into Executive Session pursuant to proyisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider the following matters: (1) Discussion of the performance of a specific Council appointee, as permitted by Subsection (A~)(1). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: ('1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. On motion, meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m. Miautes prepared by: Debbie K.
