Se tember 8 1998 ~-~-~5 <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, September 8, 1998, there <br />were present: ~ <br /> <br />*Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, *P. <br />Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Berm III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, <br />Sr, City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />98-213 The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m, Tuesday, <br />September 8, 1998, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />98-214 The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Hampton Roads Regional Flag <br />2. Fire Department - 2005 Plan <br />3. Video Plan <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to go into Executive <br />Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, for <br />discussion or consideration of the following: <br /> <br />1. Appointments by Council to committees, boards, or commissions, as <br /> permitted by Subsection (A)(1). <br /> <br />2. Consultation with legal counsel pertaining to actual litigation, as permitted <br /> by Subsection (A)(7). <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 <br />of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br />1, Only public bUsiness matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of InfOrmation Act, and <br /> <br />= <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by <br />which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or <br />considered in the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote, <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared by: <br /> <br />Debbie K.
