October 13 1998 <br /> <br />: ;* At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, Octpber ! 3, t998, there <br />were present: <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett, *J~ Thomas <br /> Berm III, william E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager Ronald W. <br /> Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />98-234 The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> ,'please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference RoOm, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., TueSday, <br />October 13, 1998, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. <br /> <br /> By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pittsi and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Executive <br />Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.t-344 of the Code of Virginia, for <br />discussion or consideration of the following: <br /> <br />Appointments by Council to committees, boards, or commissions, as <br />permitted by Subsection (A)(1). <br /> <br />The condition, acquisition or use of real property for a public Purpose, or <br />the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection <br />(A)(3), said property being in the Fairwood Homes, Downtown, New Towne, <br />and Pinner's Point areas of the City. <br /> <br />3. Disposition of publicly held property, being the assets of Tidewater RaPid <br /> Transit and Peninsula Transportation, as permitted by Subsection (A)(3). <br /> <br />4. Specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice by counsel, <br /> as permitted by Subsection (A)(7). <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to section 2.1- <br />344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the city Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public bUsiness matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by <br />which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or <br />considered in the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motiOn, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared by: <br /> <br />Debbie K.
