October 13 1998 : ;* At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, Octpber ! 3, t998, there were present: Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett, *J~ Thomas Berm III, william E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. 98-234 The following call for the meeting was read: ,'please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Manager's Conference RoOm, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., TueSday, October 13, 1998, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." Motion by Mr. Pittsi and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.t-344 of the Code of Virginia, for discussion or consideration of the following: Appointments by Council to committees, boards, or commissions, as permitted by Subsection (A)(1). The condition, acquisition or use of real property for a public Purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection (A)(3), said property being in the Fairwood Homes, Downtown, New Towne, and Pinner's Point areas of the City. 3. Disposition of publicly held property, being the assets of Tidewater RaPid Transit and Peninsula Transportation, as permitted by Subsection (A)(3). 4. Specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice by counsel, as permitted by Subsection (A)(7). Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to section 2.1- 344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the city Council: 1. Only public bUsiness matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
