<br />years and until their successors are elected and qualified. The~terms pf t2~e '~sti, ces of t]~ie ~eace in
<br />office on the effective date of this act shall expire on January. 1, 1973; their successors shaYl be
<br />pointed for four year~te~commencing on January 1, 1973. /~ne judge of the municipal court shall exercis~
<br />general supervision and aclministrative power over the justices of the peace. This shall include the power
<br />to regulate the time and place of sitting such justices of the peace. Fhe judge of the m~ici~al court
<br />shall designate one of the justices of the peace as the chief justice of the peace who shat] h~ve addition-
<br />al ~tuties as the council may prescribe. Appointments made under the provisions of this section shall be
<br />revocable at the pleasure of the majority of member of the City Council."

<br />shall be construed to prohibit or prevent any such officer or employee from exercising his rights as a
<br />citizen privately to express his opinion or from enjoying entire freedom from all interference in casting
<br />his vote, or from seeking or accepting election or appointment to public office."
