<br /> Motion of Mr. Smith to concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commission to approve the mmendment
<br />was adopted, without dissenting vote.

<br />On motion of Mr. King, the following ordinance, was approved on first reading, without dissenting vote:

<br />On motion of Mr. Johnson, the following resolution was adopted, without dissenting vote.
<br />
<br />"A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT FOR THE OPERATION 0P AN AIIrOMOTIVE SERVICE STATION ON BROAD
<br />STREET BP ~0-1
<br />
<br /> ;'CqHREAS, Warren Holland has made an application pursuant to Section 4-2 of .the Zoning Ordinance of the
<br />City of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a use permit ashereinafter described; and
<br />
<br /> ~¢HEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director have done all things required to be done in connection
<br />with said application, and the Planning Commission has recommended the granting of said use permit, subject
<br />to the conditons hereinafter stated.
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia;
<br />
<br />A;
<br />
<br />That the use for which the use permit he~reinafter described is sought (1) will not
<br />adversely affect the health or safety of persons residing or working in the neigh-
<br />borhood of the proposed use, (2) will not be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to
<br />property or improvements~in the neighborhood, and (5) will be in accord with the purposes
<br />of said Zoning Ordinance.
<br />
<br />That Warren Holland is hereby granted a use permit for the operation of an automotive
<br />service station upon the hereinafter described pp~pprty, subject to site plan restrictions
<br />and subject to the requirement that he provide and maintain a planting screehni~a~hehform
<br />of a hedge along the sides and rear of the property described below at smch points where
<br />the said property abuts upon any property in Residential Zoning District.
<br />
<br />C. The paFcel of lmud for which this use permit is granted is described as follows:
<br />
<br />Beginning at a point on the east side of Broad Street 80 feet south of the southeast
<br />intersection of Cleveland Street and Broad Street; thence running south along Broad
<br />Street 120 feet; thence east 140 feet to an alley; thence north along said alley
<br />120 feet; thence west 140 feet to the point of origin."

<br />On motion of Mr. King, the following resolution was adopted, without dissenting vote:

<br />CORNER OF VIC~ORY AND DEEP CREEK BOULEVARDS, UP-70-2

<br /> WHEREAS, Tinee Giant Properties Corporation has made an appliCation pursuant to Section 4-2 of the
<br />Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a use permit as hereinafter described;
<br />and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning ~irector have done all things required to be done in connection
<br />with said application, and the Planning Commission has recommended the granting of said use permit, subject
<br />to the conditions hereinafter stated.
