in favor of a higher bid submitted by Desks, Inc. Clearly no advantages accrue to the City by the acceptance
of this higher bid, due to the fact that the same product will be inst~lled in the same manner regardless of
which bid proposal is accepted. By accepting the bid on Division II from Everett ~addey Company, there will
be a savings to the City of approximately $500.00.
It is, therefore, respectfully submitted that the City Council consider the proposal by Everett Waddey
Company on Division II of the contract under consideration and, further, that this Division be awarded to Ever-
ett Waddey on the basis of the lower bid. As additional information for you and the Council, we would also
like to call to your attention that Everett Waddey maintains an office under the name of Business Interiors
located on the Sixth Floor. of the Citizens Trust Building and the Everett Waddey Sales Representative, Mt. Kent
Johnson, has been a Portsmouth resident for twenty years.
I would be happy to furnish you with any additional information you deem advisable. Mr. Johnson and
Mr. Davis~ the local manager of Everett ~Vaddey Company, will be present at Council meeting tonight to answer
any inquiries which may be raised."
