Novemt <br /> <br /> "RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING¢?HE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY A <br />PARCEL OF LAND LYING EAST OF THE EASTERN TERMINUS OF <br />GLASGOW STREET TO PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING <br />AUTHORITY. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to convey to <br />Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority a parcel of land <br />described as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br /> All that certain piece, or parcel of land, lying situate and being in the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, being all that portion of Glasgow Street, if <br />extended eastwardly, which lies east of the eastern terminus of Glasgow <br />Street (now closed and vacated), to the Pierhead Line along the Eastern <br />Branch of the Elizabeth River as established by the United States Army <br />Corps of Engineers. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized to <br />execute such deeds, or other documents as may be necessary to give full <br />effect to said conveyance, upon such terms and conditions as he shall <br />deem to be in the best interest of the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br />This resolution shall take effect upon its adoption." <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Moody, Pitts, Robinett, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to adopt the <br />following resolution, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DEDICATE A <br />PORTION OF WATER STREET AS A PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to dedicate a portion <br />of land now known as Water Street from its point of intersection with the <br />northern right of way line of London Street, northwardly and westwardly to <br />the eastern right of way line of Crawford Street, as a public right of way. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be, and he hereby <br />is, authorized to execute such deeds, plats and other documents as may <br />necessary to give effect to this resolution. <br /> <br />This resolution shall take effect upon its adoption." <br /> <br />'Ayes: Benn, Moody, Pitts, Robinett, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, to adopt the <br />following ordinance, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> "ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $1,250,000 FROM THE CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENTS FUND FOR INTERIM COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE <br />HOTEL AND CONFERENCE CENTER PROJECT." <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Moody, Pitts, Robinett, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- Public Hearing - <br /> <br />98-253 Public hearing on use permit applications: <br /> <br /> <br />
