April 27, 1971 <br /> <br /> Anything you may be able to accomplish would be deeply ap-preciat~d " <br /> . <br /> J Motion of Mr. King that a letter be submitted to the publisher of the Norfolk news- <br />papers to look into the possibility of using string and inform carriers to remove all papers <br />from the corner, was adopted, without dissenting vote. <br /> <br /> 71-184 Motion of Mr. Turner, to send Vice Mayor Johnson in thes~ various areas of <br />Park View and Southside and explain our Fosition legally in regards as to what takes place <br />in these area projects, was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, King, Raymond <br />Nays: Irvine Smith, Barnes <br />Abstaining: Johnson <br /> <br />Smith, Turner <br /> <br /> 71-185 - Motion of Mr. Johnson that the City Attorney draft an ordinance on Townhouses <br />in R-60 and R-75, with an emergency provision, eliminating wording "average minimum width <br />in a row" and to advertise as quickly as possible so as to hold a joint public hearing with <br />the Planning Commission so that said ordinance can be brought to a quick.conclusion, was <br />adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, Raymond Smith Turner, Barnes <br />Nays: Irvine Smith <br /> <br /> 71-186 Metion of Mr. Johnson to draft amendment to ordinance allowing temporary <br />license for three months be granted where hardship cases require short term license be <br />issued, to be referred to the City Attorney. <br /> <br /> A substitute motion of Mr. Turner to refer to the Grants Coordinator to check area <br />of Federal funds through Housing Authority and other sources to off-set this expense <br />business owners, was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, Irvine Smith Raymond Smith, Furner, Barnes <br />Nays: None ' <br /> <br /> 71-187 Motion of Mr. Holley that a~etter be sent to Portsmouth Redevelopment ~ <br />Housing Authority to look into a leak under one of the apartments in Washington Park, also <br />fee being assessed for cutting grass where there is no grass and fire hydrant leaking, <br />was adopted, without dissenting vote. <br /> <br /> 71-188 - Motion of Mr. Turner that the City Manager[take same steps pertaining to drain- <br />age problem in Cradock area as those taken in Lee Ward, was adopted and by the following <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, King, Irvine Smith, Turner <br />Nays: Johnson, Raymond Smith, Barnes <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />ent <br /> <br /> <br />
