The situation,
at present, is deplorable, intolerable and illegal, for there is only one rest room to serve
both men and women, both employees and patrons.

Insofar as employees are concerned, state code requirements provide that where four or
more persons including males and females are employed, s~parate rest room facilities must be
provided. At least 12 persons of both sexes are presently employed in the Food Stamp Office.

Regarding public usage of such facilities, health department regulations provide for
adequate and separate facilities in such places for male and female patrons.

Compounding ~his lack of separate restroom facilities is the fact that the lock to the
public rest room door does not work properly, subjecting users to potential embarrasmment.
