September 28, 1971 <br /> <br />crepancies at th.e pRHA of£ices'.. <br /> <br /> An independent audit investigation initiated by the commissioners and the City Manager, <br />and concurred in unanimously by the City Council, reveals an apparent discrepancy involving <br />Federal funds, as well as some local funds. <br /> <br /> The City Council will insist that any individuals disclosed to be involved in such dis- <br />crepancies be prosecuted as quickly as possible. <br /> <br /> Furthermore, the City council intends to press for prosecution in violatiDns where local <br />jurisdiction applies, outside the normal scope of federal authority." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Turner <br />by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />and seconded by Mr. Raymond Smith, the request was adopted, and <br />Johnson, King, Ir¥ine Smith, Raymond Smith~ Turner, Barnes <br /> <br /> 71-4412- Mr. Irvine Smith made a motion that an ordinance be drawn by the City Attorney <br />of some effect to protect the citizens df Portsmouth from flies, odors and other offenses <br />generated as a consequence of people owning a number of dogs, was adppted by the following <br />vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Johnson, King, Irvine Smith, Raymond Smith, Turner, Barnes <br />Nays: Holley <br /> <br /> 71-442 - Mr. Johnson made a motion and seconded by Mr. Holley that the City Council meet <br />with the School Board and the Chief of Police regarding the subject of school sponsored even- <br />ing athletic events, was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, lrvine Smith, Raymond Smith, Turner, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />City Clerk ' <br /> <br /> <br />
