flctober 11, 1971 USE PERMIT 71-9 Petition of Larry L. Goldman Mr. Donald'gilgore, Attorney, and Mr. Larry L. Goldman spoke in favor of the petition. On motion of Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Raymond Smith, the following resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: "A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF A CONVAtESCENT AND NURSING HOME ON COUNTY STREET. UP 71-9. WHEREAS, Larry L. Ordinance of the City described; and Goldman, has made application pursuant to Section 4-2 of the Zoning of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a use permit as hereinafter WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director. have done all things required to be done in connection with said application, and the Planning Commission has considered the granting of said use permit, subject to the Conditions hereinafter stated. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: A. That the use for which the use permit hereinafter described is sought (1) will not adversely affeCt the health or safety of persons residing or working in the neighborhood of the proposed use, (2) will not be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to property or improvements in the neighborhood, and ($) will be in accord with the purposes of said Zoning Ordinance. B. That Larry L. Goldman is hereby granted a use permit, subject to site plan restrictibns and state regulations pursuant to Section 4-2 of said Zoning Ordinance for the reconstruction~ and operation of a convalescent and nursing home located on the property described as follows: Beginning approximately 120 feet west of the northwest corner of County Street and Halifax Avenue; thence west along County Street approximately 125 feet to a side lot line; thence north approximately 108 feet to a rear property line; thence east along said line approximately 125 feet to a side property line; thence south along said line approximately 108 feet' to County Street, the point of origin." Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, Irvine Smith, Raymond Smith, Turner, Barnes Nays: None · USE PERMIT 71-10 - Petition of Virginia Electric and Power Company On motion of Mr. Raymond Smith and seconded by Mr, Irvine Smith, the resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: following "A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF A TRANSFORMER SUBSTATION LOCATED AT INTERSECTION OF KING STREET AND LOUISA AVENUE. UPYl-IO. WHEREAS, Virginia Electric and Power Company has made application pursuant to Section 4-2 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a use permit as hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director have done all things required to be done in connection with said application, and the Planning Commission has considered the granting of said use permit, subject to the conditions hereinafter stated. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of PortSmouth, Virginia: A.
