flctober 11, 1971 <br /> <br />USE PERMIT 71-9 Petition of Larry L. Goldman <br /> <br /> Mr. Donald'gilgore, Attorney, and Mr. Larry L. Goldman spoke in favor of the <br />petition. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Raymond Smith, the following resolution was <br />adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION <br />OF A CONVAtESCENT AND NURSING HOME ON COUNTY STREET. UP 71-9. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Larry L. <br />Ordinance of the City <br />described; and <br /> <br />Goldman, has made application pursuant to Section 4-2 of the Zoning <br />of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a use permit as hereinafter <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director. have done all things required to <br />be done in connection with said application, and the Planning Commission has considered <br />the granting of said use permit, subject to the Conditions hereinafter stated. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> A. That the use for which the use permit hereinafter described is sought (1) will <br />not adversely affeCt the health or safety of persons residing or working in the neighborhood <br />of the proposed use, (2) will not be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to <br />property or improvements in the neighborhood, and ($) will be in accord with the purposes <br />of said Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br /> B. That Larry L. Goldman is hereby granted a use permit, subject to site plan restrictibns <br />and state regulations pursuant to Section 4-2 of said Zoning Ordinance for the reconstruction~ <br />and operation of a convalescent and nursing home located on the property described as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Beginning approximately 120 feet west of the northwest corner <br />of County Street and Halifax Avenue; thence west along County <br />Street approximately 125 feet to a side lot line; thence north <br />approximately 108 feet to a rear property line; thence east along <br />said line approximately 125 feet to a side property line; thence south <br />along said line approximately 108 feet' to County Street, the point of <br />origin." <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, Irvine Smith, Raymond Smith, Turner, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> · USE PERMIT 71-10 - Petition of Virginia Electric and Power Company <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Raymond Smith and seconded by Mr, Irvine Smith, the <br />resolution was adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />following <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION <br />OF A TRANSFORMER SUBSTATION LOCATED AT INTERSECTION OF KING STREET AND LOUISA <br />AVENUE. UPYl-IO. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Virginia Electric and Power Company has made application pursuant to Section <br />4-2 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a use <br />permit as hereinafter described; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director have done all things required to <br />be done in connection with said application, and the Planning Commission has considered <br />the granting of said use permit, subject to the conditions hereinafter stated. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of PortSmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />A.
