SO <br /> <br />High School Student's <br />18 Holes - Week Days Only <br /> <br />1.50 <br /> <br /> It is not anticipated that the golf course can be opened before the fall of 1972. <br />This is necessary to allow a good stand of grass to be established during next summer. <br />Provisions are made in this ordinance to allow an annual membership to be purchased at <br />a reduced rate before the course is opened." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Turner and seconded by Mr. I~vine Smith, the following ordinance <br />approved on first reading by the following vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE <br />CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE II THEREOF, <br />FEES TO BE CHARGED AT CITY GOLF <br /> <br />OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, <br />BY AMENDING SECTION 25-5 PERTAINING TO : <br />COURSES." <br /> <br />was <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, Irvine Smith Raymond Smith, Turner, .Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 71-501 "The Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney has been elected to the position <br />of Commonwealth's Attorney, thus-creating a vacancy in this office. Another Assistant has <br />resigned which has created an additional vacancy. <br /> <br /> The newly elected Commonwealth's Attorney has requested from the Szate Compensation <br />Board authorization to employ two Assistant Attorneys.: The Compensation Board has requested <br />concurrence of this by the City Council. <br /> <br /> While the salaries to be paid are not exactly as the current budget stipulates, it will <br />not be more than the total budgeted. I recommend concurrence with the employment of the <br />two Assistants." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Raymond Smith and seconded by Mr. Johnson, the recommendation was <br />· adopted by the following Vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: ~olley, Johnson, King, Irvine Smith, Raymond Smith, Turner, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />This <br />for the b~l~nce of this fiscal year. Currently, funds are in the budget for a p~rt-time <br />City Physician which will be transferred to cover the balance needed on a full-time basis. <br />On a full-time basis, additional services can be rendered to the Social Services Bureau whic~ <br />will provide revenue to the City.. City cost will also be reduced at times when employees <br />are sick or injured. ,, <br /> <br />71-502 - "I submit the attache'd ordinance and recommend it be placed on first reading. <br />appropriates $7,S00 to cover the salary and office expense for a full-time City Physician <br /> <br />objectives of employing';a'full-time City Physician are: <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Raymond Smith, the following ordinance was <br />approved on first reading by the following vote: <br /> <br />The <br /> <br />Provide coordination of school health programs. <br />Provide medical services necessary for the City's <br /> workmen's compensation program; <br />Perform necessary medical services for the Civil <br /> Service Commission. <br />Provide services to Social,Services Bureau for per <br /> formance of APTD and other physical examinations, <br /> work permits on social service clients and other <br /> required physicals. <br />Provide medical advice ferocity occupational health <br /> and safety programs. <br /> <br />This is to be effective January 1, 1972." <br /> <br /> <br />
