On motion of Mr. Turner and seconded by Mr. I~vine Smith, the following ordinance approved on first reading by the following vote: "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE II THEREOF, FEES TO BE CHARGED AT CITY GOLF OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, BY AMENDING SECTION 25-5 PERTAINING TO : COURSES." was Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, Irvine Smith Raymond Smith, Turner, .Barnes Nays: None 71-501 "The Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney has been elected to the position of Commonwealth's Attorney, thus-creating a vacancy in this office. Another Assistant has resigned which has created an additional vacancy. The newly elected Commonwealth's Attorney has requested from the Szate Compensation Board authorization to employ two Assistant Attorneys.: The Compensation Board has requested concurrence of this by the City Council. While the salaries to be paid are not exactly as the current budget stipulates, it will not be more than the total budgeted. I recommend concurrence with the employment of the two Assistants." On motion of Mr. Raymond Smith and seconded by Mr. Johnson, the recommendation was · adopted by the following Vote: Ayes: ~olley, Johnson, King, Irvine Smith, Raymond Smith, Turner, Barnes Nays: None This for the b~l~nce of this fiscal year. Currently, funds are in the budget for a p~rt-time City Physician which will be transferred to cover the balance needed on a full-time basis. On a full-time basis, additional services can be rendered to the Social Services Bureau whic~ will provide revenue to the City.. Provide services to Social,Services Bureau for per formance of APTD and other physical examinations, work permits on social service clients and other required physicals. Provide medical advice ferocity occupational health and safety programs. This is to be effective January 1, 1972."
