<br />This amends Section 5 of the License Tax Ordinance pertaining to fines and penalties for
<br />non-payment.
<br />
<br /> The amendment provides for a penalty in the amount of 10% of the tax if failure to
<br />pay is for more than thirty days, with an additional 5% for each thirty days or fraction
<br />thereof. The maximum penalty is not to exceed 30% in the aggregate. Such penalty in no
<br />case shall be less than $2.00.
<br />
<br /> With the adoption of this ordinance, it is hoped that the license taxes will be paid
<br />on time to avoid the progressive penalty."

<br />Boulevard which ditch is to be paved for a distance of twentyfive feet; and

<br /> WHEREAS, all work will be in accordance with the applicable State and Federal Regulatio~
<br />as shown on sheet 4 of the contract plans;

<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA,
<br />that the City of Portsmouth guarantees faithful performance of the above mentioned work
<br />in accordance with the rules and regulations of the State Highway Commission of Virginia
