<br /> "It is with much regret that I tender my resignation from the Museum and Fine Arts

<br /> I fine.that the press of business and travel does not permit me to devote the time
<br />necessary for this important function of our city.

<br /> I have enjoyed this assignment and am in full favor with the aims
<br />committee, but since it is impossible for me to devote sufficient time

<br /> (a) "The W. E. Waters Junior High School Parent Teacher Association is in full
<br />agreement with the resolution of Brighton P.T.A., as follows:
<br />
<br /> 'The chief concern of the City Council should be the well-being of our most
<br /> precious resources (our children). Therefore; be it resolved that the Brighton
<br /> P.T.A. assesmbled at its February 8, 1972 meeting, go on record as strongly
<br /> recommending the purchase of yellow s6kool buses for the 1972-73 school year.'"

<br /> The following letter received from Mrs. Prances W. Halley, President, E.E.C. Mt.
<br />P.T.A., was read:

<br /> (b) "The Board of the Elementary Education Center, Mt. Hermon Parent Teachers
<br />Association, at a recent meeting, voted unanimously to urge the Portsmouth City Council to
<br />utilize every~means available to them in securing yellow school.buses before the beginning
<br />of our next school year 1972-1973.
<br />
<br /> The students at our school enjoy the use of the yellow buses at 'the present time, and
<br />we feel this means of transportation should be made available to,all.school children.

<br /> On motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Turn~r, the above lettemto be received as

<br /> · ' "The Mayor's Council on Drug Abuse endorses the establishment of an in-residence drug
<br />treatment facility at 2211 County Street under the ausPices of NARCO ('Narcotic Addict Reha-
<br />bilitation Center Organization) and urges the City Council of Portsmouth to grant the
<br />necessary Bse permits and zoning c~a~ges~ ~ . r ~
<br />
<br />It has been established that NARCO serves the'City of~Portsmo:uth and~the~;surrounding
<br />area wett. ~Assi,stance to the~courts and schools has~been welt documented o~er the past
<br />several months. Approval of their request is ~rongly recommended as we believe the new
<br />facility will be of great service to our community." ·
