April 11. 1972 <br /> <br /> 72-134 The following letter received from Mr. George Minor, Jr., member of the Parks <br />and Recreation Commission, was read: <br /> <br /> "It is with regret that I submit my resignation from the Recreation and Park Commission <br />effective immediately. I have enjoyed serving with the commissinn for more than ten years. <br />I feel grateful to the City of Portsmouth for this opportunity to serve. <br /> <br /> However~ due to my appointment on other commissions and boards, and other commitments, <br />I feel that it is impossible for me to serve any longer. <br /> <br /> I would like to wish the Recreation and Park Commission a great deal of success. The <br />staff and the commissioners are a great group, and it was a real honor to have been associ- <br />ated with them." <br /> <br /> Motion Qf Mr. Turner and seconded by Mr. Irvine Smith, to accept the resignation, a <br />resolution of appreciation be presented to Mr. Minor, and the vacancy on the Commission be <br />referred to a conference, was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Holley, Johnson, King, Irvine Smith, Raymond Smith Turner Barnes <br />Nays: None ' ' <br /> <br /> 72-135 - Motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Turner, that the City Manager ~Frsue <br />the matter of letters on assessments brought up at last meeting by~r. George Walker, and <br />have all the facts at the next meeting, April 25, 1972, was adopted by ~nanimous vote <br />* See below ' <br /> 72-136 Motion of Mr. Johnson and seconded by Mr. Turner, that the Health Director, <br />Dr. Buttery, be requested by City Manager to investigate, with the head of NARCO, and report <br />to us concerning establishing a drug in-patient clinic under his and NARCO's supervision <br />and that he make necessary inspection of any available site, as to location, cost, and <br />feasibility and said report to Be returned to us by 2nd meeting in May, was adpFted by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: ~ - <br /> ~o~isFg,-~mng, Irvine Smith, Raymond Smith, Turner, Barnes <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Dr. Holley was granted permission to leave the meeting. <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Turner and seconded by Mr. King, the meeting adjourned at <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />Deputy City C~i~ <br /> <br />9:15 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />
