<br /> 72-209 - The following letter received from Mr. Robert F. Poeller, Executive Director,
<br />Southeastern Virginia Planning District Commission, was read:

<br /> "The Southeastern Virginia Planning District Commission acted on April 27, 1972 to
<br />receive the report of its-conshltants entitled "Potable Water Supply Feasibility Study for
<br />Southeastern Virginia Planning District Commission" which was developed each of its partici-
<br />pating jurisdictions.
<br />
<br /> The Commission also acted to refer the report to each of the local planning commissions
<br />for review and recommendation in accordance with the Virginia Code and to each of the local
<br />governing bodies of its participating jurisdictions with a request that each local governing
<br />body be asked to indicate to the Planning District Commission the governing bo~'s feeling~
<br />on the Study as to whether it wishes to go forward or not. The Commission would like to
<br />receive the local governing body's opinion as expeditiously as possible. Copies of the
<br />report have been delivered to your offices for your re%iew.
<br />
<br /> In accordance with the Virginia Code, the Planning District Commission, if it determine~
<br />to move forward with the Study or some modification thereof, must hold a publichhearigg on
<br />the matter after which it may adopt a recommended plan and send such recommendation plan to
<br />each local governing body for adoption. No plan is effective in any local governmental
<br />jurisdiction until it is adopted in accordance with the above procedure."
