<br /> "A RESOLUTION GRANTING A USE PERMIT FOR THE OPERATION OF ~aN AUTOMOTIVE
<br /> SERVICE STATION AT THE SOUTHWEST INTERSECTION OF QUEEN AND HIGH STREETS.

<br /> I~HEREAS, Union Oil Company of California, has made application pursuant'to Section
<br />4-2 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a use
<br />permit as hereinafter described; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the applicant and the Planning Director have done all things required to
<br />be done in connection with said application, and the Planning Commission has considered
<br />the granting of said use permit, subject to the conditions hereinafter stated.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia:
<br />
<br /> A. That the use for which the use permit hereinafter described is sought (1) will
<br />not adversely affect the health or safety of persons residing or working in the neighborhood
<br />of the proposed use, (2) will not be detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to
<br />property or improvements in the neighborhood, and (3) will be in accord with the purposes
<br />of said Zoning Ordinance~
<br />
<br /> B. That Union Oil Company of California, is hereby granted a use permit subject to
<br />site plan restrictions, pursuant to SeCtion 4-2 of said Zoning Ordinance for the operation
<br />of an Automotive Service Station located on the property described as follows:
<br />
<br /> Beginning at the southwest intersection of Queen and High Streets; thence
<br /> south along High Street approximately 125 feet to the western right-of-way
<br /> line of Halifax Avenue; thence south along said right-of-way line approximately
<br /> 32 feet to a rear property line; thence west along said rear property line ap-
<br /> proximately 1SO feet to a side lot line; thence north along said side lot line
<br /> approximately 110 feet to the southern right'of-way line of Queen Street~;
<br /> thence east along said southern right-of-way line approximately SS feet to the
<br /> point of beginning."
