December 5~ 1972 S-72-13 Petition of Maryview Hospital, by Attorney Donald Kilgore to close a triangular portion of West Road at the northern end of the portion of West prveiously closed (said portion of closure approximately 389' north of High Street.~', Notion of Mr. Smith and seconded by Mr. Johnson, to be referred to the City Attorney for proper handling, was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Early, Holley, Johnson, King, Smith, Wentz, Barnes Nays: None 72-515 - Motion of Mr. Johnson and seconded by Mr. Smith that the City Attorney to draft proper procedure in setting up Public Safety Study Commission. (See purposes~ o~gani- zation structure below) Substitute mot~ion by Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. King the matter be referred to conference, to be-brought back at next Council meeting,was adopted by unanimous vote. 72-516 - Motion of Mr. King and seconded by Mr. Smith, to go into the election of a member to the Minimum Housing Board. Mr. King nominated Mrs. RaChel Benzie. Motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Smith, nominations.closed. Mrs. Benzie was elected to serve a three-year term, expiring January l, 1976, on the Minimum Housing Board, was adopted by the following vote~ Ayes: Early, Holley, Johnson, King, Smith, Wentz, Barnes Nays: None Motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. APPROV~D~ King, the meeting adjourned at 8:45 P.M. Take advantage of means of studying departments towards maximum efficiency thru federal grants available for police and such available means for fire department as American Insurance Association. Sudh organizatinnal structure of Public Safety Study Commission should make the Commission aware that this study is to up grade our police and fire departments at a time when publi.c safety is-needed at its maximum, and harmony and team~work ms needed to gain maximum efficiency end furthermore the study commission should bear in mind that we, the City Council, are going to pro%ide the most efficient protection possible to our ci'tizens by whatevery means can be provided by this council.
