February_ 23. 1999 <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />99-47 - Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />There were no appointments. <br /> <br />99-48 - Items Submitted by City Council <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Griffin acknowledged the Annual Boards and Commissions Retreat <br /> scheduled for Saturday, February 27, 1999 at the Holiday Inn. <br /> <br /> Councilman Whitehurst acknowledged a meeting to be held on February 26, 1999 to <br /> announce the cleanup of minority cemeteries, and also complimented the brochures <br /> produced by the General Registrar's Office. <br /> <br />99-49 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Deanna Dirkx, 724 Cambridge Avenue. requested additional funding for schools. <br /> <br />2. Robert Lark, 3605 Ringman Avenue, requested additional funding for schools. <br /> <br />3. Steve Pearson, 149 Grayson Street, thanked Council for support and requested <br /> continued funding for lighting project for soccer complex. <br /> <br />4.
