Februa 23 1999 <br /> <br />52? <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on TuesdaY, FebruarY 23, 1999, there <br />were present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C, Pitts, P. <br />Ward Robinett, Jr., Ji Thomas Benn Ill, William E. Moody Jr., Charles B. White <br />Sr., C ty Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />99 - 40 - The follOwing call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Council Chamber, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, <br />1999, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion 'to go into an Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />99 - 41 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. CAR Appeal- 126 Linden Avenue <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to concur with the <br />recommendation of the Commission of Architectural Review to deny the applicants <br />appeal to install vinyl siding at 126 Linden Avenue, and was adopted by unanimous <br />vote. <br /> <br />2. TRT/Pentran <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Executive <br />Session pursuant to prOvisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, for <br />discussion or consideration of the acquisition of real property for a public purpose, or <br />the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection (A)(3). The <br />subject real estate is located in the Crawford, Scott's Creek, and Twin Pines areas of <br />the City. <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, pursuant to Section <br />2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifYing that to the best of the COuncil Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by <br />which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or <br />considered in the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br />Dr. James W.
