<br />for the health and safety of its citizenry.

<br />to supply gasoline fuel will bring

<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia.
<br />that it urges the President of the United States to immediately establish a priority
<br />allocation system for gasoline, diesel fuel and heatin~ oils in order to insure that
<br />municipalities are given adequate supplies at reasonable prices so that they can continue
<br />to provide essential public services to their citizens.
<br />
<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to send a certified
<br />copy of this resolution to the President of the United States, to the two senators from
<br />Virginia, and to the Honorable Robert W. Daniel, Jr., the representative for the Fourth
<br />Congressional District in the Congress of the United States.
