<br />first reading. These are all changes necessary to changes made in
<br />the last session of the General Assembly.

<br /> The first ordinance amends the City Code pertaining to holidays for City employees.
<br />It establishes the eleventh day of November as Veterans Day rather than the third Monday
<br />in October.
<br />
<br /> The second ordinance inserts the words "agricultural property" in the Code, Section
<br />13-17.6, pertaining to abandoned motor vehicles. This prohibits inoperative motor vehicl,
<br />on open land. Licensed automobile dealers, salvage dealers or scrap processors as of
<br />June 26, 1970, are exempt.
<br />
<br /> The third ordinance amends Section 18~26 pertaining to the direction of traffic.
<br />It provides for the Chief of Police deputizing persons over the age of eighteen years
<br />without the power of arrest for the limited purpose of directing traffic.
<br />
<br /> Section 18-55 adds the words "sample" and "breath" pertaining to a chemical analysis
<br />to determine the alcoholic content of the blood.
<br />
<br /> The fourth ordinance adds a new section providing a fine and jail sentence for anyone
<br />who attempts to violate the drug abuse ordinance.
<br />
<br />Section 19-29 is amended to exclude legal bingo games."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Smithaand seconded by Mr. Johnson, the following ordinance was
