Martin, Owners, to rezone property
~-~ed as follows: Beginning at the southeast intersection of Francis Street
and Smithfield Road, thence easterly along the south right-of-way line of Smith-
field Road approximately 127 feet to a point; thence southerly approximately
75 feet to a point; thence westerly approximately 140 feet to the east right-
of-waK~line of Francis Street; thence northerly along said right-of-way approxi-
mately 75 feet to the point ~f origin; from Industrial M-1 to Residential R-60.
Denial is recommended by the Planning Cormmission which would substitute 0R-75.

I reported on conversations with this applicant dealing with her goals for this
tract of land. The Commission agreed that its earlier ~position of opposing Residential
R-60 seems sound. I reported that the applicant would like to erect a new dwelling
structure in which she could operate her home beauty parlor and that this would require
Office-Residential OR-75. (The apF%icant would in this process remove the existing
structure on this lot.) The Planning Commission noted similarities between the Resi-
dential R-75 zoning district and the OR-75 zoning district which is now requested by this
applicant and authorized me to report to you that 0R-75 could be substituted in this
transitional area between R-7S and M-i."

On motion of Mr. Smith and seconded by Mr. Jehnson, to concur in recommendation of
the Planning'Commission, the following ordinance was approved on first reading, and by
the fol'low{~g vote:

"ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z' 73~29"

Ayes: Johnson, King,~Smith, Wentz, Barnes
Nays: None

Motion of Mr. Johnson and seconded -y Mr. Smith, the meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.

APPROVED -

City Clerk
