224

February-12,-1974

Even though you may have to look a little more closely, and confide yourself to
neighbors, rather than citizens in general~ you will find evidence of the same spirit of
friendliness and cooperation which makes any project work.

This brings us logically to the point that if there had been no Police Community
Relations unit, we w0nCer if we would ahve ever gained such insight that would be bene-
ficial to all ci~izens, 'We just could not have gotten along without it'.

We the Mt. Hermon Community League wish to go on record stating our feelings towards
the Police Community Relations unit. We highly approve, and would advise such means of
Police Community Relations to all communities throughout the City. Since this may be
impossible, we would encourage you who are in Authority to see that it continues as a
superb step in the right direction in the Mt. Hermon Community. Impressive victories have
been accomplished with much respect and admiration to our enforcement officer Sgt. Donald
E. Brown.

We look forward to 1974 and the continuing in the £uture with the Police Community
Relations unit."

74-71 - Motion of Mr.
executive session prior to
of:

Smith and seconded by Mr. King, that. the Council meet in an
the next regularly'scheduled Council meeting for the purpose

(1) Discussing appointments to Boards and Commissions.
(2) Discussing the disposition of City property.
(3) Consultation with Counsel pertaining to legal matters.

was dopted by the following vote:

~ O
Ayes: oohns n, K~ng, Smith, Went, Barnes
Nays: None

74-72 The following letter received from Simon P.
