<br /> 74-211 "The attached ordinance is submitted for your consideration and I recommend
<br />that it be placed on first reading. This amends Section 23-317 of the City Code
<br />and relates to fees charged for each copy of an acciden% report by the Police Department.
<br />This amendment is necessary to correct an error which occurred during recodification
<br />of the City Code. The proper charge for each of these reports is $2.00 as set forth
<br />by City Ordinance 1972-11 dated February 8, 1972. The revised Code shows a fee of
<br />$1.00 for this service."

<br />CHARGES FOR COPIES THEREOF."

<br /> 74-212 "The attached ordinance is submitted for your consideration and I recommend
<br />that it be placed on first reading. This appropriates $230,000 from the Capital
<br />Improvement Fund for construction of the Southside Fire Station at the northeast
<br />corner of Elm Avenue and Portsmouth Boulevard. City Council, at its last meeting, autho~
<br />rized the City Manager to enter into a contract with the low bidder for construction
<br />of this fire station. The low bid was submitted by Shirley Construction Corporation
<br />in the amount of $204,000. The total appropriation includes drainage, building, furnishin
<br />engineering, architectural and inspection fees. A contract has been signed by the City
<br />and Shirley Construction Corporation for this project."

<br />FUND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE SOUTHSIDE FIRE STATION AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER
<br />OF ELM AVENUE AND PORTSMOUTH BOULEVARD."

<br /> 74-213 - "The attached ordinance is submitted for your consideration and I recommend
<br />that it be placed on first reading. This appropriates $3,005 in the Federal Grants
<br />Fund for polygraph examination equipment.
<br />
<br /> These funds will be used by the Police Department to enable the officers already
<br />trained in polygraph examination procedures to be effective. Polygraph examinations
<br />will be used internally and as investigative aids.
<br />
<br /> There are $2,854 Federal and State funds included in the above appropriation and
<br />$151 of local money required for the purchase of this equipment. The local money is
<br />already budgeted in the Police Department for 1973-74."

<br /> 74-214 - "The attached ordinance is submitted for your consideration and I recommend
<br />that it be placed on first reading. ~This appropriates $102,610 from the Federal Grants ~
<br />Fund for the initial development of a Human Services Delivery and Information System.
<br />This project is our initial effort in the development of a comprehensive services and
<br />delivery information system to providers of public and private agencies within the City
<br />of portsmouth. Upon its completion, the system will establish a generic delivery system
<br />and supporting information to enable human service agencies to more efficiently and
<br />effectively plan and deliver the human service program.
<br />
<br /> The funds required for this appropriation will come from State and Federal sources,
<br />with twenty-five percent of the cost being furnished through a grant from the Urban
<br />Assistance Incentive Fund (State), and seventy-five percent from the Department pf Health.
<br />Education and Welfare (Federal).
<br />
<br /> The contract for consultant services for this project was previously authorized
<br />by City Council and this appropriation is required in order to provide the necessary
<br />funds for the contract."
