DP, cc,~'hc,'r' I ? 1 9?4 <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $15,000 FROM THE GENERAL CAPITAL IMPROVEa¥IENT FUND <br />FOR COMPLETION OF CURB AND GUTTER AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS TO CITY PARK AVE>~JE." <br /> <br /> 74-529 "Consideration of an ordinance e~ first reading to appropriate $7,500 from <br />the General Reveaue Sharing Trust Fund in the category of public transportation for payment <br />to Community Motor Bus. <br /> <br /> This appropriation ~s to provide the necessary funds to the General Fund for payment of <br />subsidy to Community Motor Bus Company for the month of January, 1975. The City Manager <br />recommends adoption of this ordinance on first reading." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Early, the following ordinance was approved <br />on first reading; that the Community Mo~o.r'BB~ Company provide to the City Manager or Council <br />a schedule of all buses that they intend to run in this city, bus stops on the line and this <br />information to be in your hands before check in the amount of 67500 iR submitted to the <br />Company, and was adopted by 6-1 (Holley) vote: <br /> <br /> "AN ORDI~XI~NCE TO APPROPRIATE $7,500 FROM THE GENERAL REVENUE SHARING TRUST FUND <br /> IN THE CATEGORY OF PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION." <br /> <br /> 74-530 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $7,500 from <br />the General Fund for the payment of the JanuaTy, 1975 S~bsidy to Community Motor Bus Company. <br /> <br /> It is necessary to extend the contract for one more month since the bus service in the <br />City of Portsmouth cannot be commenced by the Tidewater Transportation District Commission. <br />The purchase of the systems will not be completed prior to December 31, 1974, as planned. <br />The City Manager recommends adoption of this ordinance on first reading." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Barnes, the following ordinance was approved <br />on first reading, and by a vote of 6-1 (Holley): <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $7,500 FROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR TNE PAYMENT OF <br />OPERATING SUBSIDIES UNDER THE CONT~kCT WITH COMMUNITY MOTOR BUS COMPANY." <br /> <br /> 74-531 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to amend the Classification <br />and Pay Plan regarding the complements of manpower in the Fire and Police Departments. <br /> <br /> This ordinance would permit the City Manager to make temporary appointments and pro- <br />motions in excess of the authorized complement provided such actions shall be for a period <br />not to exceed six months, as permitted by applicable regulations of the Civil Service <br />Commission. The~City Manager recommends adoption of this ordinance on first reading." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Wents, the fcllowing ordinance was approved <br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 18 OF THE CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLAN OF THE <br />CITY PERTAINING TO THE COMPLEMENTS OF THE FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENT.'' <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br /> 74-427 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to close a portion of Rodman <br />Avenue between Western B~anch Boulevard and Que~n--Street. <br /> <br /> This closure has been requested by Culpepper <br />recommended against the closure. <br /> <br /> ~otion of Mr. 0asr and seconded by Mr. Wentz, <br />Planning Commission. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Went~, <br />parties to speak, was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> The following spoke in favor of the ordinance: <br /> <br /> Willard J. Moody, Attorney, representing Culpepper <br /> T. F. Culpepper <br /> Jerry Redmon <br /> <br />Enterprises.
