<br /> The Consulting Engineers and Director of Public Utilities have reviewed the bids
<br />and recommend award of the contract to the Iow bidder, W. B. Meredith II, Inc., in the amount
<br />of $209,344.
<br />
<br /> Since there was a previous appropriation for the advanced engineering and design of
<br />$10,500, it is requested that the appropriation ordinance be amended downward to $255,350.
<br />This appropriation includes the contract, engineering, inspection and contingencies."
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Oast and seconded 'by Mr. Barnes, the contract to be awarded to W. B.
<br />Meredith II, Inc., being low bidder, was adopted.by the following vote:

<br />1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 26-2 THEREOF PERTAINING TO INCREASING THE PLANNING
<br />COMMISSION FROM SEVEN (7) MEMBERS TO NINE (9) MEMBERS."

<br /> The following request to speak, received fro~ Robert A. Jones, President, Portsmouth/
<br />Chesapeake Board of Realtors, Inc.., was read:

<br /> "On behalf of the Portsmouth/Chesapeake Board of Realtors, Inc., I would lfke permission
