Februar ll 1975 <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Oast, To be referred to ~he City Attorney for <br />proper handling, was adopted by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz, Davis <br /> <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br /> 75-76 - Motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. <br />to Boards and Commissions,~.~as adopted by unanimous <br /> Mr. Wentz nominated the following members: <br /> Board of Electrical Examiners <br /> <br />Barnes, to go into <br />vote. <br /> <br />the election of member <br /> <br />B. C. Moring, to be reappointed for a term four years, exFiring March 1, 1979. <br /> <br /> Planning Commission <br /> R. T. Williams and Ms. Susan Whitley, as Ex Officio, representing the City of <br />Portsmouth, and Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing Authority. <br /> Motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Oast, to close nominations and the above member~ <br />were elected to the Board/Commission as designated, and by unanimous vote. <br /> 75-77 - Motion of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Barnes, that the Council meet in an <br />executive session prior to the next regularly scheduled Council meeting for the purpose of: <br /> <br /> (1) Discussing appointments to Boards and Commissions. <br /> (2) Discussing the disposition of City property. <br /> (3) Consultation with Counsel pertaining to legal matters; <br /> <br />was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes: Barnes, Early, Elliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz, <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br /> ~5-78 - The following letter received from Dr. James Jarrett, <br />Virginia Sports Hall of Fame, Inc., was presented: <br /> <br />in <br />as <br /> <br />Davis <br /> <br />Chairman, Site Committee, <br /> <br /> "As chairman of the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame Site Committee, our group is interested <br /> the former County Office Building located in the 300 block of High Street in Portsmouth <br /> a possible site for the Hall of Fame. <br /> Yau may consider tis an official request from our committee, who in turn will report <br />back to our entire Board of Directors at their meeting in Richmond on February 16, 1975 for <br />a decision on the use of the building for the location of the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame, <br />Inc. <br /> <br />Your help in expediting this matter will <br /> <br />be greatly apFreciated." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Oast, to be referred to the City Manager and he <br />confer with Museum and Fine Arts Commission;aR~.
