February 25, 1975 <br /> <br /> 75-56 The following letter received from the City Manager was presented: <br /> <br /> "Attached is a report you have requested at the last meeting regarding the Incinerator <br />Air Pollution Control Status. <br /> <br /> The request that authority be granted to enter into an agreement with the Detrict <br />Company could either be heard tonight or at the next meeting as you may choose. <br /> <br /> I hope this information is adequate for your purposes." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Wentz and s'econded by Mr. Elliott, that the matter to be taken up at <br />next Council meeting, March 11, 1975, was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />The following recommendations' by the City Manager were presented: <br /> <br /> 75-80 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to apprepriate $194,871 from <br />the General Fund for an expanded public servise employment program. <br /> <br /> This ordinance appropriates funds provided through the U. S. Department of Labor under <br />Title VI of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973 as amended by the <br />Emergency Jobs Act of 1974. These funds are designed to have the needed impact on the <br />unemployment levels of the City through the creation of public service jobs. This appro- <br />priation brings our total allocation under Title VI to $415,227. The City Manager reeom- <br />mends adoption of this ordinance on first reading." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. EIliott, the following ordinance was approved <br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE. S194,871 FROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE EXPANDED <br />PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM UNDER TITLE VI OF THE COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOY- <br />MENT AND TRAINING ACT OF 1973, AS AMENDED IN 1974" <br /> <br /> 75-81 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $79,000 from <br />the Capital Improvement Fund for the purchase of a fire apparatus-aerial ladder truck. <br /> <br /> This <br />whichwas <br />ordinance <br /> <br />ordinance will provide the necessary funds to purchase an aerial ladder truck <br />authorized in December of 1973. The City Manager recommends adoption of this <br />on first reading." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Early, the following ordinance was approved <br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />'~AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $79,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR <br />THE PURCHASE OF A FIRE APPARATUS-AERIAL LADDER TRUCK." <br /> <br /> 75-82 "Consideration of an <br />the General Revenue Sharing Trust <br />Operation and Maintenance. <br /> <br />ordinance o~ first reading to appropriate $80,000 from <br />Fund, Entitlement V, in the category of.Public Safety- <br /> <br /> This appropriation will provide the necessary dollars to the General Fund for the <br />payment of the City's subsidy required by contract with Portsmouth Ambulance Service dated <br />January 1, 1974, as amended. The City Manager recommends adoption of this ordinance on <br />first reading." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Wentz, the following ordinance was approved <br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $80,000 FROM THE-GENERAL REVENUE SHARING TRUST FUND <br />IN THE CATEGORY OF PUBLIC SAFETY, INTO THE GENERAL FUND." <br /> <br /> 75-83 <br />the General <br />Portsmouth <br /> <br /> "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $80,000 from <br /> Fund for the payment of additional operating subsidies pertaining to the <br />Ambulance Service, Inc., contract Cated January 1, 1974, as amended. <br /> <br /> Included in this appropriation is $42,728 which is due Portsmouth Ambulance Service, <br />Inc., in accordance with the annual audit completed by the City's independent auditor. <br />This appropriation also includes the additional funds for the monthly supplements due to <br />Portsmouth Amublance for the remainder of the fiscal year. The City Manager recommends <br />adoption of this ordinance on first reading." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Oast and seconded by Mr <br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $80,000 FRO <br />OF ADDITIONAL OPERATING SUBSIDIES PERTAI <br />SERVICE, INC. CONTRACT DATED JANUARY <br /> <br /> 75-84 "Consideration of an ordinance o: <br />from the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund <br />Expenditures for General and Multi-Purpose <br /> <br />Early, the following ordinance was approved <br /> <br /> i THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE PAYMENT <br /> ING TO THE PORTSMOUTH AMBULANCE <br />[9?4, AS AMENDED." <br /> <br /> first reading to appropriate $94,724.87 <br />, Entitlement IV and V, in the category of Capital <br />Equipment. <br /> <br /> <br />
