Stanley Li~say, Jr., Attorney, representin~ <br />the Norfolk Coca-Cola Bottling Works, Inc., was presented: <br /> <br /> Please refer t0 Street Closure Petition S-75-1 filed by this. office in behalf of Norfolki <br />Coca-Cola Bottling Works, Inc. <br /> <br /> Because of other circumstances, it is now the desire of my client to withdraw this <br />application." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the request to withdraw application <br />be granted, was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> The following reports from the City Manager w~re presented: <br /> <br /> 75-$02 "Consideration of an ordinance on first reading to appropriate $271,000 from <br />the Capital Improvement Fund for King Street improvements in the Mount Hermon Redevelopment <br />Project, 75-4. <br /> <br /> This appropriation will provide the necessary funds for the construction of public <br />improvements in the King Street area of the Mount Hermon Redevelopment Project. This project <br />was included int~he 1975-76 Capital Improvement Budget in the category of Urban Renewal. <br />The City Manager recommends adoption on first reading." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the following ordinance was approved <br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $271,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR <br />KING STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN THE MT. HERMON REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, 75-4. ' <br /> <br /> 75-303 "Consideration of an ordinance to appropriate $463,597 <br />ment Fund for the ~nwchase of a seven acre site between the Citizens <br />Holiday Inn which is part of the waterfrontde~elopment. <br /> <br />from the Capital Improve- <br />Trust Building and the <br /> <br /> This appropriation will authorize the funds necessary to p~mchase the site between the <br />Citizens Trust building and the Holiday Inn as part of the'proposed Crawford Harbor Waterfront <br />Development. (Map) This appropriation includes the total purchase price including all legal <br />fees and interest through August 1~, 1975. The 5-Year Capital Improvement Program includes <br />~800,000 for land acquisition in waterfront development and estimates disposition proceeds <br />during the first 5 years of about $1,S00,000. The City Manager recommends adoption on first <br />reading." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seeonded by Mr. Oast, the following ~dinance was approved <br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote: (See Exhibit 75-303) <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE ~463,597 PROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR <br />THE PURCHASE OF A SEVEN-ACRE SITE BETWEEN THE C-ITIZENS TRUST BUILDING AND THE <br />HOLIDAY INN WHICH IS A PART OF THE WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT." <br /> <br /> 75-304 "Consideration of an ordinance to <br />ment Fund for upgrading sewage pumping stations <br />Boulevard, and Deep Creek Boulevard. <br /> <br />appropriate $30,000 from the Capital Improve- <br />at Rodman Avenue, Afton Parkway, Victory <br /> <br /> This appropriation will provide the funds for the Department of Public Utilities to <br />contract for the engineering design for improvements to sewage pumping stations at Rodman <br />Avenue, Alton Parkway, Victory Boulevard, and Deep Creek Boulevard. The 5-Year Capital <br />Improvement Plan includes the upgrading of the 4 pumping stations included in this appro- <br />priation. The City Manager recommends adoption on first reading." <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Oast, the following ordinance was approved <br />on first reading, and by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO,APPROPRIATE $30,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMBN~ FUND FOR <br />UPGRADING SEWAGE PUMPING STATIONS AT RODMAN AVENUE; AFTON PARKWAY, VICTORY <br />BOULEVARD AND DEEP CREEK BOULEVARD." <br /> <br /> <br />
