April 27, 1999 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, April 27, 1999, there were <br />present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, P. <br />Ward Robinett, Jr., J. ThomaS Benn III, William E. Moody, Jr., Chade~ B. <br />Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />99 - 95 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the Cit, <br />Manager's Conference ROom, 801 Crawford street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April <br />27,1999, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. <br />By order of the Mayor." <br />99,96 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br />1. Budget Follow Up <br /> <br />2. Farmer's Market Report <br /> <br />3. Qualified Zone Activity Bonds (QZAB) <br /> <br />4. Regional Highway Priorities <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, seconded by Mr. Robinett, to go !nto Executive Session <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider <br />the following: <br /> <br /> (1) The condition, acqUisition or use of real property for a public purpose., or the <br /> disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection (A)(3). The <br /> subject property is Ioca'~ed in the downtown and midtown area of the City; <br /> <br /> and also <br /> <br /> (2) The performance of specific public officers appointees or employees of the <br /> City, as permitted by subsection (A)(1). <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section 2.1- <br />344.1 of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> 1. <br /> <br />Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br />the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered <br />in the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motibn, meeting adjourned· <br /> <br /> · P eh-~in ~1-t8~7//~ <br />Deputy City Clerk~/' <br /> <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br />Dr. James W; Holley III \. <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Debra Y.
