229 October 14, 1975 o The construction of a gymnasium at the Cavalier Manor Recreation Center and completion of the renovation of the existing center. The CAC would like to recommend the citizens of Cavalier Manor £or their dedicated efforts to re- habilitate the Center. DESIRABLE 4. The renovation of the Port Norfolk Fire Station when the Fire Department m~vesinto new quarters thereby creating a Community Center in that neighbor- hood. (Those projects which are recommended, but which can wait'until other higher priority projects have been completed and funding becomes available.) 1. A pool and recreation center in Churchland. NOT o Curbs, gutter~, and sidewalks in Brighton. Many other ideas submitted required further study and information and, as such, will be evaluated at a later date. These projects are listed in the Citizens' Advisory Committee Community Development material which you will receive with this letter. Number of baseball/softball Little League fields at each location. If the City is obligated to maintain Sleepy Hole Park; how long we will be obligated and why; what requires us to continue it; determine if the name of Sleepy Hole Park can include Portsmouth. Information as to the prospective cost of maintaining the ~ark in Churchland as Phase I; Phase II how much will the cost be to maintain; Phase III how much will cost to maintain. 75-455 Councilman Barnes ~ada written report to Council regarding information he received pertaining to certain problems within the Police Department.
