<br />At a regular meeting of the City Council held on January 27, 1976, there were present:

<br />Sherwood Allcox, Pastor, Academy Park Baptist Church and affiliated with the Police
<br />Bureau, opened the meeting with prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the
<br />
<br /> Mayor Davis welcomed all visitors in attendance.
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mx. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Early, the minutes o,f the~ye~lar meeting of
<br />January 13, 1976, to be approved as received, was adopted by unanimous vote.

<br /> 75-501 "Consideration of abandonment of Ballard PUD 73-1, deferred from meeting of
<br />December 9, 1~75.~
<br />
<br /> John V. Turtle, 4731 Rivershore Road, representing Rivershore Civic League, spoke for
<br />rezoning back to R-150~
<br />
<br /> Lester E. Schlitz, 210 East Road, representing Ballard PUD, spo~e requesting postponement
<br />of Ballard PUD to 1977.
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Early, the PUD previously approved for the Ballar
<br />tract be abandoned and voided and that the Planning Director be instructed to initiate ~he
<br />proper ~rgcedures for rezoning a commercial parcel back to R-150 which is separate from PUD
<br />and when that process is completed and approved, the City Manager be authorized to r~fund to
<br />the developer any fees paid to the City in connection with the original PUD application, was
<br />adopted by the following vote:

<br />75-521 The following citizens spoke regarding property in Cavalier Manor:

<br />Parks ~ Recreation Commission to Mayor Davis, dated January 23, 1976
<br />
<br /> "In reply to your letter of January 23rd I plan to call a special meeting of the Parks
<br />and Recreation Commission to reconsider the recommendation concerning the purchase of land in
<br />Cavalier Manor. Several new facts need to be considered and we hope to have the appraisal
<br />of the property available at that time.
<br />
<br /> If the City Council would grant us
<br />would be appreciated. We will give you

<br />Manager to seek an extension of the option on the 8½ acre

<br /> Several members of the Commission felt the need to review open space in the entire city
<br />before making special recommendations concerning one comr~unity~ However, the Commission does
<br />not want to lose the option of purchasing the 8~ acre tract, should it's city-wide study in-
<br />dicate the need.

<br /> The Commission also voted to request the purchase of a strip of land located between the
<br />city owned swimming pool and the recreation center located on Freedom Drive.
<br />
