Saunders Early, Jr., Archie Elliott, Jr., <br />Edward L. Oast, Jr., Robert W. Wentz, Jr., R. T. Williams, City Manager, C~ H. <br />McGinRis, Assistant City Manager, Gordon B.~Tayloe, Jr., City Attorney. <br /> <br />Absent: James W. Hotley, II1 <br /> <br /> Rev. <br />Chaplain <br />Fl~g. <br /> <br />Sherwood Allcox, Pastor, Academy Park Baptist Church and affiliated with the Police <br />Bureau, opened the meeting with prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the <br /> <br /> Mayor Davis welcomed all visitors in attendance. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mx. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Early, the minutes o,f the~ye~lar meeting of <br />January 13, 1976, to be approved as received, was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br /> 75-501 "Consideration of abandonment of Ballard PUD 73-1, deferred from meeting of <br />December 9, 1~75.~ <br /> <br /> John V. Turtle, 4731 Rivershore Road, representing Rivershore Civic League, spoke for <br />rezoning back to R-150~ <br /> <br /> Lester E. Schlitz, 210 East Road, representing Ballard PUD, spo~e requesting postponement <br />of Ballard PUD to 1977. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Early, the PUD previously approved for the Ballar <br />tract be abandoned and voided and that the Planning Director be instructed to initiate ~he <br />proper ~rgcedures for rezoning a commercial parcel back to R-150 which is separate from PUD <br />and when that process is completed and approved, the City Manager be authorized to r~fund to <br />the developer any fees paid to the City in connection with the original PUD application, was <br />adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, Elliott, Oast, Wentz, Davis <br />Nays: Barnes <br /> <br />75-521 The following citizens spoke regarding property in Cavalier Manor: <br /> <br />Lemuel A. Walton, 903 Hancock Avenue, representing United Civic <br />Manor. <br /> <br />Cavalier Manor. <br />League of Cavalier <br /> <br />The following letters were presented: <br /> <br />Parks ~ Recreation Commission to Mayor Davis, dated January 23, 1976 <br /> <br /> "In reply to your letter of January 23rd I plan to call a special meeting of the Parks <br />and Recreation Commission to reconsider the recommendation concerning the purchase of land in <br />Cavalier Manor. Several new facts need to be considered and we hope to have the appraisal <br />of the property available at that time. <br /> <br /> If the City Council would grant us <br />would be appreciated. We will give you <br />Chairman" <br /> <br />a~ ~xtension until th~ first meeting in February it <br />a full report at that time. Signed - John L.
