Air quality maintenance planning must necessarily be done for the whpSe region, and the significant degradation of air quality of designated pristine clean ai~ over federal lands must take into consideration new construction tn ail zegional cities. Comprehensive planning for the attainment and the maintenance of the ambient air quality dovetails into the water quality planning now being done by the Hampton Roads Nater Quality Agency and includes the entire Hampton Roads area. These reasons dictate the consolidation of the two existing districts into one Hampton Roads Air P~llution District. It is proposed that the Director of Region VI act as the secretary of the prpposed expanded committee in the same capacity as he has for the Southeastern Vir~ini~ Air Pollution Control District Committee. Each Locality receiving a copy of this letter is invited to comment direct to Mr. W. R. Meyer, Executive Director, State Air Pollution Control Board. Signed -~. B. Fullwood amd Roderick Triple,t, III, appointed for a term 1978. expiring January 1, 19~8; James of two years, expiring January Citizens Advisory Committee Edwin L. Ellis to fill an unexpired term, expiring June 1, 1978. Commission of Architectural Review Mrs. Wilbur T. Leary, Cradock Property Owners Assn., appointed for a term of five years, expiring January 1, t98~; Mrs. Edward J. Hennessy, City at Large, appointed for a term of five years, expiring January 1, 1981. Motion of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Holley, to close nominations, and the above members were elected to the Board/Commission as designated, and adopted by unanimous vote. 76-73 - Motion of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Early, that the Council meet in an e~ecutive session prior to the next regularly scheduled Council meeting for the purpose of: (1) Discussing appointments to Boards and Commissions: (2) Discussing the disposition©of City property.
