<br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Wentz, the following resolution was adopted,

<br /> "A RESOLUTION APPOINTING VIEWERS FOR CLOSING A PORTION OF GREEN STREET,
<br /> GEORGE WASHINGTON HIGHWAY AND EFFINGH~-I STREET.
<br /> WHEREAS, Department of Navy, United States ef America and the City of Portsmouth,
<br />have made application to vacate and close the hereinafter described portions of certain
<br />streets and it appearing that the notice of the applications and the request for the appoint~
<br />ment of viewers was duly posted March 12, 1976, on the bulletin board of the Circuit Court
<br />of the City of Portsmouth, the bulletin board of the Council Chambers of the City of Portsmou
<br />and the bulletin board of the General District Court, Civil Division, of the City of Ports-
<br />mouth, Virginia.
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br /> that Robert Reed, Frank N. Bilisoly, Harrison Miller, Charles R. Hudgins and R. Irvine
<br /> Smith be appointed as viewers to view the hereinafter described portions of such streets
<br /> and to report to this Council in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what
<br /> inconvenience would result in vacating and closing the following:

<br /> 141 and Effingham Street, said point being the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence
