383 c June 22, 1976 that the committee be composed of the following membership: 1) Two members from Portsmouth City Council 2) Two m~mbers from the Portsmouth School Board and $) Two members from the Municipal Finance Commission. The fiscal stability of the City of Portsmouth is dependent on both economy of operatior and expansion of revenues. Both the City's and School Board's management direct their atten- tion to the economy of operations on a continuing basis and it is not our desire to interfere with those efforts. Having discussed this matter with the City Manager, however, it is the underatanding of this Commission that both he and Dr. Alford would welcome the efforts of the ad hoc committee which we recommend to be appointed."
