JUne 8, 1999 r_ 005 <br /> <br /> All that certain piece, or pamel of land, situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />being designated as Parcel 035, as shown on Sheets 18 and 19 of the plans for Route <br />164, State Highway Project 0164-124-FO4, RW-201, and beginning on the south (right) <br />side of the Route 58 eastbound (EB) centerline at approximate Station 61+98 to the <br />lands now or formerly owned by the Commonwealth of Virginia through its Virginia Port <br />Authority at approximate Station 65+08, being 2.462 acres, more or less. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the City Manager is authorized to execute deed(s) <br />and other documents necessary and appropriate to convey the properties to the <br />Commonwealth of Virginia pursuant to said Purchase Agreement." <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Pitts, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br />Absent during vote: Robinett <br /> <br />- New Business - <br /> <br />99 - 135 Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />There were no appointments. <br /> <br />99 - 136 Items Submitted by City Council <br /> <br />City Manager and Council acknowledged Terri Williams leaving Portsmouth as <br />reporter. <br /> <br />Mayor Holley asked for a report/demographics on our recreation services and long- <br />range recreation plan for communities. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Griffin thanked volunteers who assisted with Seawall Festival. <br /> <br />99 - 137 Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. William Copeland, 2107 Staunton Avenue, asked that City.post signs for no fishing, <br /> crabbing and swimming on behalf of school children. <br /> <br />Raleigh Harsley, 2124 Peach Street, in favor of reactivating Health Adviso. ry <br />Commission. Also, expressed concern about Fayette Street, between Elm Avenue <br />and Peach Street, with speeding vehicles and children out of school.
