<br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council :on Tuesday, June 8, 1999, there were

<br />Ward Robinett,~Jr., J. Thomas Benn II!, *William E. Moody, Jr., Chades B. Whitehurst,
<br />Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman.

<br />99 - 130 - The following call for the meeting was read:
<br />
<br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the Cityt Council to be held in the City
<br />Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford street, 6 h floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, June
<br />8,1999, for the purpose of a Public Work Session.
<br />
<br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session.
<br />
<br />By order of the Mayor."
<br />
<br />99 - 131 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session:
<br />
<br />1. Citizen Survey Results
<br />2. Video EquiPment Update
<br />3. Regional Transportation Priorities
<br />
<br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into Executive Session
<br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider
<br />the following:
<br />
<br /> First, appointments by Council to committees, boards, or commissions, as
<br />permitted by subsection (A)(1);
<br />
<br /> Second, the condition, acquisition or use of real property for a public purpose, or
<br />the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by subsection (A)(3), The subject
<br />property is in the downtown and Churchland areas of the City; and
<br />
<br /> Third, the investing of public funds where competition or bargaining is involved
<br />as permitted by subsection (A)(6). The subject investment is in the downtown and
<br />Churchland areas of the City.
<br />
<br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Moody, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1
<br />of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members knowledge
<br />during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council:
<br />
<br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting
<br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and
<br />
<br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which
<br />the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered
<br />in the meeting by theCity Council.
<br />
<br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote.
<br />
<br />On motion, meeting adjourned.
