158 <br /> <br />March 22~ 1977 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of pOrtsmouth presently owns two parcels of property located on <br />Route 9999 (Indistrial Access Road), more particularly described as follows: <br /> <br />PARCEL I <br /> <br /> All that certain piece or parcel of land, with the improvements <br />thereon, situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, bounded <br />and described as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point on the western right-of-way of Route 9999 <br />'(Industrial Access Road), the same being 30 feet right of Station 19 plus <br />87.07 as shown on Sheet No. 4 of the Virginia Department of Highways & <br />Transportations plans for Project 9999-124-101, ~501 which are on file in <br />the City gDg%neer's Office of the City of Portsmouth; thence N56925'14" <br />west l~o.o/ zeet to a point; thence S16~24'53" west 159.85 feet to a point; <br />thence S37917'O4" west 17.60 feet to a point on the western right-of-way <br />of Route 9999; thence along the western right-of-way of Route 9999 N66°41'44'' <br />east 125.67 feet to a point of curve; thence continuing along the western <br />right-of-way of Route 9999 along the aforementioned curve to the left having <br />a radius of 300 feet, an arc distance of 72.65 feet to the Point of Beginning. <br />Said parcel containing 12,661.35 square feet. <br /> <br />PARCEL II <br /> <br /> All that certain piece or parcel of land, with the improvements thereon, <br />situate, lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, bounded and described <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point on the northern right-of-way of Route 9999 (In- <br />dRstrial Access Road), said point being the point at which the line dividing <br />the property hereinafter described and the property now formerly owned by <br />Paul Bowers, said property having been conveyed to Carl Bowers by deed of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, intersects the northern right-of-way of Route <br />9999 (Industrial Access Road); thence N76°30'OO'' west 68.29 feet tb a point <br />on the northern right-of-way of Route 9999 (IndUstrial Access Road); thence <br />N62°20'18'' west 83.32 feet to a ~oint; thence north 13~25'14" east 151.64 <br />feet to a point; thence N12933'15" east 165~49 feet along the property tine~ <br />of Washington Heights properties to a point; thence N13°47'54'' east 29.40 <br />feet to a pOint; thence S65°49'20' east 61.O3 feet to a point; thence S09° <br />26'20" west 150 feet along the line of property now or formerly owned by <br />Carl Bowers to a point; thence south and continuing along the line of property <br />now or formerly owned by Carl Bowers 32046'20'' west 74.00 feet to a point; <br />thence south and continuing along the line of property now or formerly owned <br />by Carl Bowers 44915'24" east 59.02 feet to a point; thence S13°30'OO" east <br />.136.33 feet to a point on the northern right-of-way of Route 9999 (Industrial <br />Access Road) the Point of Beginning. <br /> <br />?. ~HEREAS, the said land is no longer needed by the City of Portsmouth and it is, therefore <br />declared to be surplus propertY. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to advertise and receive bids for <br /> the hereinabove described property on such terms and subject to such minimum bid restriction~ <br />as he may be deem proper." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Early, Blliott, Holley, Oast, Wentz, Davis <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- NEW BUSINESS - <br /> <br /> 77-103 - The following le%ter from the City TreaSurer was presented: <br /> <br /> "Attached hereto is a list of Delinquent Personal Property Taxes for the Taxable Year <br />1976 in the amount of $183,434.99. <br /> <br />The Delinquent Tax is broken down <br /> <br />Regular $i91,620.00 <br />Busines 89,732.19 <br />Rentals 2,082.80 <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> Total $183,434.99 <br /> <br /> The original of this list and the Personal Property Books for 1976 have this date been <br />turned over to Mr. E. K. Rabey ~II the Delinquent Tax Collector." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Oast, to be received as information and a list <br />to be placed in the P~blic Library, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 77-104 - Mr. Ira E. Price's letter of resignation from the ~unicipal Finance Commission <br />was presented~and received with regrets. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Holley, to go into the election of members <br />to the following Boards and Commissions, was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
