<br />At a regular meeting of the City Council held on September 13, 1977, there were present:
<br />
<br />Richard J. DaVis, Jack P. Barnes, Archie Elliott, Jr., James W. Holley,
<br />Edward L, Oas~, Jr.., Robert W. Wentz~ Jr.; R. T. Williams, Gordon B. Tayloe,
<br />City Attorney.
<br />
<br />Absent: E. Saunders Eariy, Jr.
<br />
<br /> Dr. Thomas J. Powers, Pastor, Park View Baptist Church, opened the meeting with prayer,
<br />followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
<br />
<br />Mayor Davis welcomed all viAitors in attendance.
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Barnes, minutes of the called meeting of August
<br />23, 1977 and miAutes of the regular meeting of August 23, 1977, to be approved as received,
<br />was adopted by unanimous vote.

<br />- UNFINISHED BUSINESS

<br /> 77-318 - The following ordinance, approved on first reading at the regular meeting of
<br />August 23, 1977, was taken up and read:
<br />
<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $t39,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR
<br />THE REPLACEMENT OF SANITARY SEWERS ON COLUMBUS AVENUE; MODIFICATION OF SEWAGE
<br />PUMPING STATION ON CARNEY LANE; AND CONSTRUCTION OF AN ACCESS ROAD OFF ROUTE
<br />NO. 13 IN SUFFOLK."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by. Mr. Elliott, the ordinance was adopted, and by
<br />the following vote:

<br /> 77-319 - The following ordinance, approved on first reading at the regular meeting of
<br />August 23, 1977, was taken up and read:

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $50,000 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR
<br />SURVEY AND ENGINEERING COST ON MAINTENANCE DREDGING AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS
<br />WITHIN THE CITY."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Wentz and seconded by Mr. Elliott, the ordinance was adopted, and by

<br />THE CONSTRUCTION OF PARKING LOTS IN THE OLDE TOWNE CONSERVATION PROJECT."
