July 27, 1999 02 7 <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, July 27, 1999, there were <br />present: <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ware Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas <br />Benn III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager Ronald W. <br />Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />99 - 164 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council <br />Chamber, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 27,1999, for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed'Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />99 - 165 - The following item was discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Commission of Architectural Review Appeal for 20 Hobson Street <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Benn, to concur~with the. de~ial by <br />Commission of Architectural Review for Olde Towne, Cradock and Truxtun decision to <br />deny the home owner the retention of Dutch lap (with wood grain finish) vinyl siding, and <br />was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />2. Video Suite Tour <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, to go into a closed meeting <br />pursuant to Virginia Code section 2.1-344(A) to discuss: <br /> <br />The acquisition of real property for a public purpose, as authorized by <br />paragraph 3, with the subject property being in the Churchland area of the <br />City; <br /> <br />Consultation with legal counSel pertaining to actual or probable litigation, as <br />authorized by paragraph 7, With the subject litigation being an actual pending <br />lawsuit against the City; and <br /> <br />Discussion of appointment of specific Council appointees, as authorized by <br />paragraph 1, with the subject appointments being to boards and <br />commissions. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr: Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section 2.1- <br />344.1(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preced ng C osed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virgini'~ Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> APPROVED-. <br />~iffin, Sr. <br /> Vice Mayor <br /> Mayor James W ....
