This means that all of the burden of these two
intersections being closed will effect Hodges Ferry Road and Leonard Road, which are already
heavily traveled, and are also residential areas. We would like to know at least why one of
these streets could not stay open to at least give the motorist the option of using one of
the above streets mentioned. (This being Mayflower Road or Melvin Drive).
This action is being planned in the near future when the stop light is put up at Hodges
Ferry Road at Portsmouth Boulevard.

We the undersigned citizens feel like this is being entirely unfair and we do protest
this action that: is being planned.
We also feel this will mean widening Hodges Ferry Road for traffic and costing the City
of Portsmouth a lot of money which is unnecessary.
We would greatly appreciate the council looking into this matter for us and take into
consideration what this will do to the residents in these residential areas, and how each
and every one of you would feel if you were the one's being affected. Signed by Cleta C.
Bradshaw, 1330 Hodges Ferry Road and others."
report
The City Mahager responded and will furnish a complete/to Council.

78-195 Ms. Mildred L.
