<br />FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 197~, AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1978, AND ALSO FOR EACH
<br />AND EVERY FISCAL YEAR THERAFTER BEGINNING JULY ] AND ENDING JUNE 30 OF EACH
<br />SUCH YEAR, UNLESS OTHERWISE CHANGED BY COUNCIL, ON REAL ESTATE, TANGIBLE PERSONAL
<br />PROPERTY, AND MACHINERY AND TOOLS WITHIN THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, FOR THE

<br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 23-211, CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, 1973,
<br />PERTAINING TO PARKING OF CERTAIN VEHICLES IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS."

<br />Report from the School Boards was received. (See Exhibit 78-177)

<br />Dr. M. E. Alford, Supterintendent of Schools, spoke and presented the following
<br />
<br />"Upon motion of Mr. Whitehurst, seconded by Mr. Peanort, the Superintendent was
<br />instructed to request City Council not to amend the ordinance relating to parking
<br />on City Streets and to inform Council that the School Administration would handle
<br />complaints relating to the parking of buses on an individual basis."
