ORDINANCE NO. 2026-25 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING HAZARDOUS MATERIALS EMERGENCY <br />RESPONSE TEAM COST RECOVERY FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,696.68 <br />FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br />AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2026 GRANTS FUND FOR USE <br />BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it accepts Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Team Cost <br />Recovery Funds in the amount of $2,696.68 from the Virginia Department of Emergency <br />Management and appropriates said funds in the FY 2026 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used to reimburse the Department of Fire, <br />Rescue and Emergency Services for emergency response costs. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2026 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $2,696.68. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on April 14, 2026. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
